But newest scientific studies showed that even those of us who have an active life style provoke a higher risk of heart diseases, if they expose themselves to periods of prolonged sitting during the day.

The study published in May in the journal Medicine and Science in Sports and Exercise concludes that men who spent more than 23 hours a week watching TV and sitting in their cars had a 64 % greater chance of dying from heart disease than those who sat for eleven hours a week or less. This result was to nobody’s surprise. But astonishing was the fact that most of those men let an active lifestyle, i.e. exercised once a day. (They are called “Active couch potatoes”).

What is the remedy to this problem?

If you have to sit many hours per day, you are not doomed to end up with a heart disease. What you need to do is to break up your sitting by short periods of exercises during the day. We recommend to have your mini trampoline or rebounder in your office and just bounce 10 – 20 times. This invigorates your body, and clears your mind. Instead of smoking a cigarette or taking a coffee (or even during the time until your coffee is ready) just bounce on a quality Rebounder. Watch the following video where we show you how we use Rebounding to help us stay healthy and active:

http://rebounding.tv/movement-yes-but-how-often/
QiBounding2010-07-19T10:08:30-07:00Even ACTIVE couch potatoes risk heart problemsRE: Therabands http://qibounding.com/pc_url_11980249
Hi Teeli,
Thank you for your message. See, if you just do a soft health bounce on the Rebounder, then obviously you would have a more rigorous workout while jogging. But if you do nice toning exercises – and you will see lots of them in our TV Show on www.Rebounding.TV as I want to teach you all this good stuff – then you can wonderfully tone your whole body. Take jumping jacks as an example: When you do 2 minutes jumping jacks on the ground, you get a nice workout. When you do 2 minutes jumping jacks on the Rebounder, you get about double the training then when doing it on the floor. The reason: At the same time of doing the exercise, you bounce through space and you come to a higher G-Force. If you come to G-Force 2, which is easily achieved on a soft bouncing Rebounder, you get twice the training effect then doing the same exercise on the ground. I was just in my training to become a Rebounding Instructor. When my doctor and specialist for Osteoporosis heard that I am Rebounding, he told me that this is the best what I can do and that I won't need supplementary exercises.
Later, when I was already a Rebounding trainer and lived in the US, one of my clients had Osteopenia. She started Rebounding and after 1 1/2 years she was back to normal bone density. She rebounded every other day intensly during 10 minutes.
In Germany they have done several surveys of women with Osteoporosis. The survey was over 3 months. They had very good results. I have published the Video Clip on my website and - as it is in German - I have translated both video clips.
